NOTE: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DOOR IS CONTINUALLY SUPPORTED AS YOU MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO YOUR DOOR OR INJURY TO YOURSELF!
The overall procedure is simple, by loosening two screws you can make many adjustments. Once the screws are loosened, please be aware the door is completely free and will fall if not supported!
Procedure:
Open the door and locate screw “A” on each hinge as shown. We recommend starting with the screw on the bottom hinge first.
WHILE FULLY SUPPORTING THE DOOR, use a #2 square head driver and loosen the first screw about 1 1/2 turns. The goal is to loosen the screw, not remove it. NOTE: Excessive loosening will cause the inner hinge plate to separate from the rest of the hinge*. The goal is to loosen the screw, not remove it.
Once both screws are loosened, the door can be adjusted freely or even removed.
To make the adjustment:
- Rotate door clockwise approximately 1/16″, then re-tighten screws “A”.
- Close door, and check alignment. If necessary, repeat the Procedure until gaps above and below door are equal.
* If a hinge plate separates, we recommend removing the door completely and set it aside. You can then reinstall the inner hinge plate easily without trying to support a door at the same time.
