From the Cabinetmaker's Bench This section of Wood Shavings invites you to see newly completed cabinetry before it leaves our cabinet shop! Each month we feature a snapshot of an interesting piece and share the details of its design.
This handsome Craftsman style banquette is one of a pair that will flank a solid wood table to become an inviting breakfast nook. Handcrafted in Quartersawn Oak and built to the principles of Arts & Crafts furniture, this piece makes wonderful use of space with an extra long drawer at one end and hinge top seating at the other.

From the Cabinetmaker's Bench
This ornate cherry wall cabinet will make itself at home in a large, elegant bathroom. It is one of two identical cabinets to be placed facing each other on opposite ends of a large whirlpool bath tub. Situated within easy reach of the tub, this cabinet is the perfect place to store everyday toiletries and plush bath towels.

A client from Darien, Connecticut had previously purchased some metal Victorian details and wanted to incorporate them into their kitchen cabinetry. With the help of Randy Fullam, our Special Project Detail Coordinator, we worked with this client to build a range hood that would showcase the intricate metal grate. The result is a beautiful one-of-a-kind range hood! In addition, the client provided two additional, smaller metal patterns that were incorporated into the doors of other cabinetry in the kitchen.

| July 31, 2006 From the Cabinetmaker's Bench - Spindled Base Cabinet for Island End
If space allows, fitting the end of an island with a cabinet is a great way to add convenient storage. Finished on both sides, this cabinet is further embellished with spindles and a decorative Victorian toekick. The open shelf will house a warming drawer upon installation.

A beautiful mix of colors from both of our paint collections. The exterior has been finished in Pitch Black Milk Paint, and the interior looks gorgeous in Bay Breeze Classic Paint. Glass doors show off the handsome, solid wood beadboard back and fluted adjustable shelves. (And yes, you are looking at the cabinet upside-down!)

| May 15, 2006 From the Cabinetmaker's Bench - Basket Cabinet This section of Wood Shavings invites you to see newly completed cabinetry before it leaves our cabinet shop! Each month we feature a snapshot of an interesting piece and share the details of its design.
This charming base cabinet offers four slide out baskets. The open placement of the baskets provides airy storage space for a variety of items, such as fresh vegetables, children's art supplies or everyday mail. The warm wood tone of the baskets contrasts nicely against the Antique White paint. The cabinet is enhanced with arch top rails, designed to echo other arch details throughout the kitchen.

From the Cabinetmaker's Bench - Table Style Island This section of Wood Shavings invites you to see newly completed cabinetry before it leaves our cabinet shop! Each month we feature a snapshot of an interesting piece and share the details of its design.
Destined for a nautical themed kitchen in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, this island features a slatted mahogany base in a warm contrasting finish. A mahogany countertop and a sink with exposed chrome plumbing will complete the maritime motif.
