Sneak Peek – Quartersawn Oak Baker’s bench!

This striking piece will be seen as part of our weekly collection of “From the Cabinetmaker’s Bench” when we get back from Christmas break! Designed along the lines of a vintage baker’s bench, it is constructed from Quartersawn White Oak (1″ doors, drawer fronts and face frame) finished in our Caramel stain. It features a custom style door designed especially for this piece, side-by-side drawers and a run of handsome slats along the base of the open area. In true period style, note also the raised end panel in that same open area. Rugged 4 x 4 constructed legs anchor each corner on this solid (and heavy!) cabinetry.

We’re taking a sneak peek today at this handsome tall cabinet out of Maple and finished with our clear Natural sealer and topcoat. Constructed from our Limited Line, this frameless cabinet features shelving behind the upper doors, a stainless steel tambour, and four drawers below; the two upper drawers clad in felt. The doors, drawer fronts and end panels are all made “open-face”, which means there are no visible plywood seams in any of the faces.

Yes! (But you knew that already! ) We’ve updated our “From the Cabinetmakers Bench” section on our site, with this dramatic vanity built out of Sapele Mahogany. This barnboard and black kitchen cabinetry features a unique combination for an amazing one-of-a-kind custom kitchen island!

We’ve handcrafted the authentic, honest-to-goodness barnboard lumber (reclaimed by the good folks at Carlisle Wide Plank floors) into posts and horizontal runners for cabinets that feature our frameless construction! The island itself will contain an oven on one end, and a cooktop in the center area. (Note: The brackets you currently see under the cabinetry won’t be necessary once the cabinets are installed into the client’s home.)

Here’s a look at the opposite side. The left door on the end is fixed, and the right door is hinged to function as a normal door.

From the Cabinetmaker’s Bench is a gallery on our website where we give a sneak peek into what’s being built out on the Crown Point production floor. This stunning table, custom painted with Old Fashioned Milk Paint, is just one of the outstanding pieces featured in our latest update.

The impressive top and lower shelf are from CraftArt, made with Teak-a hardwood usually reserved for outdoor furniture and decks. Custom details like the square tapered legs and recessed routing detail complete this piece, giving it a one-of-a-kind look.

Cherry Flatware Cabinet-It’s Electric!

Once you’ve finished singing the “Electric Slide” which just got stuck in your head (our apologies), take a moment to click into our latest update of “From the Cabinetmaker’s Bench.” Here, we post photos of Crown Point cabinetry hot off the presses-er workbench. Today’s featured cabinet, handcrafted from cherry, is outfitted with an Electronic Furniture Locking System (EFLS)! A keyed electrical switch ensures the security of heirloom flatware that will be nestled into this cabinet’s felted cutlery dividers. Take a look!

Saw-tooth adjustable shelf supports add character to this period style base cabinet

Traditional saw-tooth adjustable shelf supports are the unsung heroes of this handsome base cabinet. These brackets provide excellent shelf stability, allow for flexibile storage options and add period style charm. A Knotty Pine beadboard back creates a nice contrast against the distressed Sea Green finish, completing the look.

The beautiful rays of Quartersawn Oak are shown off in this gorgeous Craftsman banquette

This handsome Craftsman style banquette is one of a pair that will flank a solid wood table to become an inviting breakfast nook. Handcrafted in Quartersawn Oak and built to the principles of Arts & Crafts furniture, this piece makes wonderful use of space with an extra long drawer at one end and hinge top seating at the other.
