Quality made cabinetry

Quality construction in custom cabinetry

Our quality is evident in many forms, from features to construction; all backed up with our ten year warranty:

In the box:

Custom cabinetry  All-Wood Construction: Our plywood box construction is lighter and stronger than flake board, particleboard or fiberboard. Period.

UV-Coated Plywood Interior: Our standard interior is made from clear maple Hardwood Plywood, then coated and UV cured. So what does this mean to you? Beauty and durability--this is the same type of finish that goes on quality flooring!

In the Dovetail Drawer:

In the Undermount Drawer Slides:
Dovetail view Our dovetail drawer is a solid maple 5/8" thick, with a 1/2" plywood bottom. A drawer built to last, with all four corners having true furniture dovetail joints. What don't you see? Our rugged undermount drawer slide system.

See that next.

Note: Drawer box shown with sample drawer front attached. Drawer front is created separately, and then attached to box.

Bottom of drawer A drawer is only as good as its slide system. Ours is one of the best. It operates as a self- and soft-closing system. Completely concealed, rated at 75 lbs carrying capacity, rolling on silky-smooth ball bearings. Ahh.

This is the normally hidden view of the bottom of the drawer box. Should the occasion ever arise, the orange-colored quick release tabs allow hassle-free removal of the drawer box from the cabinet.

Drawer slide view Looking down into a cabinet, we can see the beefy steel slides that support the drawer box. (Note: All standard base cabinetry comes with structural dust covers--not installed here for clarity's sake)

...In our Wood Selection:

Make your lumber choice from our Standard Collection: 12 beautiful wood species in various hard and soft woods, or for a look that is one-of-a-kind, select from our Vintage Collection. Our Vintage Collection features 6 different species that have been reclaimed from old barns, factories, and large wooden buildings, and 2 choices that are a result of Old Growth careful and respectful land management.

Whichever your preference, your custom cabinets will look stunning!

Our Vintage Collection

We offer a very special selection of real Antique and Old Growth lumber. The lumber from the Antique varieties comes from structures having been catalogued for demolition. Expert eyes scour the buildings, and those structures deemed acceptable are carefully taken apart and brought to the lumber mill. The wood is cut into wide planks, which are then kiln-dried, sized, and carefully graded.

Just like antiques in the furniture world, antique wood is in limited supply. However, by giving this rare resource a second life, stress on our forests can help be reduced.

Old Growth is not to be confused with Virgin Growth. Virgin Growth is used to describe a forested area that has never been touched by man. Rightfully so, the areas of Virgin Growth are not part of any logging operation. Old Growth, which more accurately refers to full growth, is a tree that is allowed to reach full maturity. At maturity, it is necessary and beneficial to cut the timber. Similar to harvesting a garden by picking the ripe vegetables, managing the land properly is essential for its overall health and long term production. This means that the timber from Old Growth Eastern White Pine and Old Growth Heart Pine is harvested between the ages of 80-120 years old, versus 30-60 years.

Custom cabinets

In Fit and Finish: Tight joinery on the doors, drawers and front frames demonstrates the care that goes into every Crown Point cabinet. The finish starts with many hand-sanding steps. A hand-wiped stain is then applied, and is followed by a catalyzed sealer and topcoat. The catalyzed sealer and topcoat ensure a beautiful finish that will last for many years.

In Full Custom Cabinetry: Full custom means custom sizes and higher quality materials and workmanship. Nothing is pre-built at the cabinet shop. We build it all, from the cabinet boxes, to the doors and drawers.

In our Warranty: The ultimate test of a company comes down to one thing. Do they stand behind what they sell? We do, and back it up with a Ten Year Warranty; that is once again, one of the best in the business. And frankly, we have proven, the best in the business.
