This quartersawn oak cabinet puts a mission twist on shoe storage. It is on its way to a front hall coat area where it will be fitted with a solid wood top and used to house shoes and boots.
Routed holes, in a mission style arrangement, serve as air ventilation. This allows wet shoes to dry while remaining out of sight.
From this angle we can see the decorative end added to dress up the partially exposed side of the cabinet.
Our second image, turns the cabinet to reveal the unfinished right side.
Our third image slides open the right side door. Here, we also get a glimpse of the removable dividers.
We slide open the opposite side in our fourth image.
Our fifth image shows us the sliding door track system. This nearly invisible track allows the doors to slide in either direction for access on both sides.
Our sixth image comes in for a close-up of the routed holes, the beautiful wood grains of the quartersawn oak and the dark hint of hand-applied Van Dyke Glaze in the corners.
